Fuzzifying the Constraint Hierarchies Framework

چکیده
The Constraint Hierarchy (CH) framework is used to tackle multiple criteria selection (MCS), consisting of a set of candidates and a set of, possibly competing, criteria for selecting the \best" candidate(s). In this paper, we identify aspects of the CH framework for further enhancement so as to model and solve MCS problems more accurately. We propose the Fuzzy Constraint Hierarchies framework, which allows constraints to belong to, possibly, more than one level in a constraint hierarchy to a varying degree. We also propose to replace the standard equality relation = used in valuation comparators of the CH framework by the-approximate equality relation = a() for providing more exible control over the handling of valuations with close error values. These proposals result in three new classes of valuation comparators. Formal properties of the new comparators are given, wherever possible.

M-FUZZIFYING INTERVAL SPACES
In this paper, we introduce the notion of $M$-fuzzifying interval spaces, and discuss the relationship between $M$-fuzzifying interval spaces and $M$-fuzzifying convex structures. It is proved that the category {bf MYCSA2} can be embedded in the category {bf MYIS} as a reflective subcategory, where {bf MYCSA2} and {bf MYIS} denote the category of $M$-fuzzifying convex structures of...
متن کاملFuzzifying Strongly Compact Spaces and Fuzzifying Locally Strongly Compact Spaces
In this paper, some characterizations of fuzzifying strong compactness are given, including characterizations in terms of nets and pre -subbases. Several characterizations of locally strong compactness in the framework of fuzzifying topology are introduced and the mapping theorems are obtained.
متن کاملA Unified Theory (I) for Neighborhood Systems and Basic Concepts on Fuzzifying Topological Spaces
This paper considers fuzzifying topologies, a special case of I-fuzzy topologies (bifuzzy topologies), introduced by Ying [25]. It investigates topological notions defined by means of -open sets when these are planted into the framework of Ying’s fuzzifying topological spaces (by Łukasiewicz logic in [0, 1]). In this paper we introduce some sorts of operations, called general fuzzifying opera...
متن کاملA Generalized Framework for Constraint Planning1
Constraint hierarchies have been proposed to solve over-constrained systems of constraints by specifying constraints with hierarchical preferences. They are widely used in HCLP, CIP and graphical user interfaces. A declarative expression of preferred constraints and the existence of efficient satisfaction algorithms are the advantages of constraint hierarchies. At present, there exists a lot of...
متن کاملGeneralized Local Propagation: A Framework for Solving Constraint Hierarchies
`Constraint hierarchy' is a nonmonotonic system that allows programmers to describe over-constrained real-world problems by specifying constraints with hierarchical preferences, and has been applied to various areas. An important aspect of constraint hierarchies is the existence of e cient satisfaction algorithms based on local propagation. However, past local-propagation algorithms have been l...
